Engagement Photos

This weekend Alejandro and I took some engagement photos at the Casino. Here is a little taste.
They were taken by Brian Miller, a great family friend who did a fabulous job and we are so thankful for them!

Photographer Chosen!

I know a lot of you have been involved in this process of me choosing a photographer but I finally did! They are Troy & Aimee Grover, an adorable couple that I met with and have amazing talent. They have even shot the Casino before which is great!

I am so excited to have them capture Ale and I's special day.
Checkk out the adorable video in their "About" section.

This is actually inside the Casino!

Something Old, New, Borrowed, Blue

I read an interesting article today on the meaning of the above tradition Brides have carried out the past years.

Something Old can be your Mother's wedding dress, Granmother's pearl, etc. It resembles continuity from generation to generation.

Something New can be anything, such as your dress and it resembles optimism, success for the Bride's new life ahead.

Something Borrowed i something that has brought happiness to someone and they would like you to borrow and bring you happiness for your wedding. Such as their veil, a piece of jewelry, etc.

Something Blue symbolizes loyalty, consistency, love and good fortune. I told my mom I want to wear Blue to match all of you Beautiful Ladies! Check these out!!

Hottness!
I guess there is another part that not many people know about but supposably the Bride is to wear a sixpence in her shoe which symbolizes good fortune! Definitely don't want to forget that one!

Anyone watching the Bachelor, I heard from realitysteve.com Emily and Brad are engaged! I could be wrong...

Dresses & More Dresses plus My Avatar!

Sooooo many dresses this weekend!

So this is so cute, on TheKnot.com which every bride MUST register for, you can create your own "Bride Avatar"! Here is mine...

I think my avatar sums me up pretty well. Simple, classic, fit to flare, blonde..hahaha!

Wedding dress shopping was very fun this weekend. First was the White Dress where they had gorgeous dresses but they were all a little $$$$$$. First step is determining which style you like best! This is very hard and women are all around you in dresses that are hysterical and that you may like but don't necessarily fit you.
I was in love with the Monique Lhuillier Scarlet which did not fit me well! I was surprised that the dresses that looked best on me were not what I had thought!

Next was David's Bridal!!! My Grandmother and Mother were more interested in the other people there and bride watching than me! They have some potential dresses but you can kind of see where the value goes just in the fabric's alone.

Last was Mon Amie which had a fabulous dress that I loved! I am going to check out one more place before I make my final decision!

Important things to remember when you go dress shopping:
1. Bring an honest friend/family member. You need people to guide you in the right direction because it is overwhelming!
2. Go to David's Bridal after you see Couture Gowns! Going first may make you rull it out right away!
3. Wear underwear, leave the thong at home. No one needs to see your booty!
4. Do not expect to take pictures because most places do not allow you to, take vivid memories of the dress. Write down what exactly you like about it, the feel of it, the train, etc.!
5. Ask for the name of the designer and style and then google "monqieu lhuillier scarlet discounted" You never know what you might find!
6. Don't be opposed to renting one! www.Onenightaffair.com

IT'S OFFICIAL

Yay! The Wedding Date is officially set for AUGUST 27th, 2011! Let the dieting, extreme wine drinking and creative thinking really truely begin!

I went by the Casino today and they were setting up for a mormon wedding and Kelly the GM showed me the lighting and new furniture and french doors. Everything looks awesome! I also met the owner of the building so that was exciting as well. Now I am ready to really start planning and get the ball rolling.

This Saturday is another wedding and I was thinking about taking a peak before which the manager said I could. Then I could get a real idea!

Dresses....and Honeymoon!

I haven't had an update in a few days...my apologies. So it is turning out that a few people, not going to mention any names, have their dresses! I am jealous! I am planning to go to The White Dress in Corona Del Mar this weekend for the first round! Very exciting! I just need to understand what looks and feels best because there are so many styles!

One interesting website is BHLDN.com which is the wedding line from Anthropology. They have some very fashion forward pieces, not sure if they are "me" but I think worth checking out for sure!

I love the bridesmaid dresses and I think they will look amazing on you all!

I started personal training with Erin's sister and I can hardly sit up I am sore! It is a good workout because I must be fit as a fiddle on that Special Day!

Another fun thing is searching for places for the Honeymoon. We are now looking into Thailand! Long flight but so many beautiful beaches it is unreal. With your free time, google Phuket Thailand. A-MAZ-ING

Flowers! So Many Choices...

Flowers are very stressful! There are so many options to choose from!

I love hydrangeas. They come in great colors, like blue, green and white :).

I love this picture below because I love the vases with the green wrapped inside. Very cute.

I also love the orchids with the subtle purple as well. Definitely need floating candles on the tables as well. Very romantic!

This is also very pretty.

Neat idea for the isle.

Okay that is all I have for now. Will keep posting...
Happy Friday!
Love,
Britt
